Growing in the Spirit

Consider

We are all spiritual beings living a human experience. Connecting with God is a relationship other than that doubting voice in your head that is incessant with all its insecurities. That voice is there to keep you from your purpose. There is another one that lives inside that is full of Grace, Encouragement, and Hope. It’s a voice that is forgiving, even when we mess up! God’s voice will always be Loving and Kind. Tune into that voice and dismiss the negative one. Be silent, surrender, and open your heart to hear a word from the still small voice and be blessed by it.

 FINDING STRENGTH DURING WEAKNESS

Have you ever realized, when you look back over your life, how many times you made it through situations that you did not think you were going to make it through? These are the seasons of our lives that God often uses to remind us, “if He did it before, he’ll do it again.” We tend to take for granted or forget about how we truly made it through a situation. I have learned, as I look back over my life that often times God allows us to go through something to get us to something! The song written a few years ago confirmed and reassures us that “there’s a blessing on the other side of through!” As I reflect back on these last four months after losing Rona, the blessing is often the “through.” It’s when we reach the point of knowing that when we are weak, He is strong. It is his strength, when things have us looking and feeling down that helps and encourages us to look up.

Family, the central element that we need to maintain to find strength during weakness is the peace that comes from knowing that God can do anything and everything but fail. We must always remind ourselves that the peace around us is controlled by the peace that is within us. This peace comes from knowing that God provides what we need, who we need, and when we need it before we even ask for it. Just as we exercise to stay in decent shape physically, we must exercise our faith to stay in good shape spiritually. There is always a blessing on the other side of through. The message here is that we need to know when to “let go and let God!”

But what we can do, as flawed as we are, is still see God in other people, and do our best to help them find their own grace. That's what I strive to do, that's what I pray to do every day.”
